ER

Hudson had a fever of 100.5 so they sent to to the hospital because he is only 5wks. As protocol they do a chest X-ray, draw blood, urine culture and spinal tap. (yes..I said spinal tap!) Let me just say....I was a teary mess!!! They had a hard time getting a vein, so they had to poke him 3 times in each arm and once in the leg. Then after they would get it, they manually manipulated his arms to force more blood out so they could collect the sample. He has bruises all over his arms!! They wouldn't let me stay when they did the Spinal tap (which was a good idea)
Usually they admit babies for at least 2-3 days, but the doctor was really nice and said as long as we followed up today and tomorrow with the pediatrician for antibiotic shots, then thats ok. His labs came back good, we are still waiting on the cultures, but they wont be back for 3 days. They said it's probably just a virus, but since he is so young they take every precaution.
